It is normal…

Amidst the classes, a call was announced to each girl of the class to gather in the computer lab. Unaware of the fact what was all about, the girls moved to the lab. That was the first day ,a 11 year old got introduced to her  own body process.

She was warned that age was going to be difficult, you would notice changes.Don’t keep secrets but yes, don’t even yell in public  , though it was normal yet it was to kept in murmurs not announcements.Swirling with just confusing thoughts that burst in her head, she enquired her senior, who ignored her in shy. What was to hide about it?, she was still unknown.

Throwing the bag in the corner she took her mother to the room and asked her about it, the mother added more spice in the most hiding thing to be called in this world, yet her doubts were not clear that why does every girl bleeds in a month, and why she has to not let anyone speak about if its a disease.

She was 13, hardly remembering the DO’S and Don’ts been taught her some 2 years back, but she had few encounters about such talks with her classmates who were going through the month cycle, now that day, it was her chance to be the part of such gossips and invest her experience in those talks.

The morning sore eyes in washroom got red by watching the red blood flooding out, no it wasn’t a cut or a bruise, its normal, she knew that. But she cried, because she was afraid of leaving her favourite sport badminton, they say you have to participate least in sports. It  was frightening for her to imagine sitting at  the corner of the class when everyone giggled together  , because the blood stains on her skirt might be the next exhibition for  everyone in the class. She was struggling with the fear of not entering the holy place what if she does, will she be cursed?

Her fears were not fertile, they were just the foundation of coming regulations being imposed on being a girl.

When every TV screen and star studded shows are loaded with Akshay Kumar’s coming movie ‘Padman’ then it was my mother who came to me in the evening after my return to home , she explained what Akshay Kumar talking about the myths and false drama created within the society , she added we have been taught this since childhood, and we need to give the same to our daughters knowingly or unknowingly.

This whole scenario jerked to come with this post, how a teenager girl gets introduced to herself, is this process a right way to tell her about her physical changes ?When there the whole country is working on this issue, let’s not hide it anymore because its normal!
